Walkerburn Public Hall exists to serve the community of Walkerburn and
the surrounding district.
The Trustees of the Hall are given below: Liz Fraser Cathie Hart (Co-Chair/Secretary) Dawn Rogers Christine Tucker Mike Wilcox (Treasurer) Cat Worsey (Co-Chair/Secretary)
Charitable status of the Hall. The village hall charity was converted to a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) in April 2025. Previously the Hall was operated via a Trust set up in 1908. For those interested, the original trust Deed is available via this link, The SCIO is a membership organisation and in order to have any say in how the village hall is run in future, residents need to become members of the SCIO. There is no commitment to anything arising from membership, however it is important that the Trustees of the hall can be held responsible and answerable to the residents of the village who are members, although it is technically all residents of the village who are the ultimate owners of the building. Membership is open to anyone over the age of 16 who lives in the EH43 postcode area. Becoming a member is a simple process and can be done by completing a membership application form which is available by clicking on this link. Completed forms should be put into the letter box at the village hall.
The hall is available for hire for private parties with a stage, and a
fully fitted kitchen. There is disabled access, the hall has both small
and large tables, and seating for 220.
